recap, recoup, and a summary of the past few months.

Posted 03-23-2011 at 10:46 AM by mightymouse
I'm writing this as a memoir to look back at and hopefully giggle at my past.
Well to start off the past seven or so months have been tough. My truck burnt down and i lost it. The thought of rebuilding it crossed my mind but i went a different route for several reasons. I also quit smoking at about that time as well and to say the whole truck burning down was a trial by fire for my nerves is and understatement. I smoked for 15 years and was a pack to a pack and a half a day smoker. Cold...

junkyard score!!

Posted 11-11-2009 at 08:49 AM by mightymouse
I went to the junkyard yesterday to find parts for my new project and scavenge parts for my yota. The project is a 1993 jeep cherokee xj 2dr 5spd. As i entered and made my way to the jeep section of the yard the the honda toyota nissan suv and light truck section was on the way. Behold six, count them six new to me yotas on the yard. With most of them untouched...

Like many toy owners I like to find the best bang for my buck and over the years the local junkyard has been a great place to find that dumb stuff that seems to be insignificant at the time but when the opportunity presents itself to fix you have to jump on it. I am in the midst of building a 1995 civic dx for the younger sister and the yard is the easiest place to source parts for the little...

22re cooling issues

Posted 06-12-2009 at 09:33 AM by mightymouse
So, I'm kinda new to the yotatech fam. and this is my first blog entry. I have just recently built a new 22re motor for my 1990 toy 4x4. timing issues have been taken care of and most everything is buttoned up. The engine is about 200 miles or so into the break-in period and seems to be running fine. To give some background on the motor it has all the internals are new including a 268 degree cam or an rv cam. also a high performance head that has stiffer springs and is ported and polished. It seems...
