Hey there,
I just picked up this 1980 pickup all stock. First thing to get done (besides grinding down/undercoating frame) is a rear locker. I am leaning towards aussie. I am also planning on gears possibly at the same time. I need to do more research though. My truck still has the stock 20r. I don't see many first gen trucks that still use that engine. Should I keep the 20r (4 speed) if I am going through all the trouble of a locker and gears or should I just put in a 22r? I know I could potentially beef up the 20r but I am not sure of the capability of it. Any ideas?
