Bump & Grind

Got out wheeling yesterday around Squamish. Hit the 4.5K line a couple of times, unstuck a fullsize that was hung up on his bumper using a Hi-lift, shovel & rockstack under his rear wheels.
Went exploring further up the Mam Main, the snow really starts just after the 8mi marker. We bashed in for another k or so. Its melting quick, but theres still lots of it up there.
Turned around and went for a drive up Ring Creek Rd. Found a good track with some nice & deep water bars. All was going well, but as I was expecting, my new winch mount sticks out way too far & became a bit of a shovel blade...
I'm kicking around ideas on how to get this thing mounted behind my current bumper, lots of head scratching...
Further up, I get well hung up on my rear bumper, both rear off the ground & an unlocked front. So now is the winch's chance to earn its keep after a week's worth of tinkering.
This is my first time using it under a heavy load, or "for real". And while a tug out would have been quick & easy, the little sammi in front had no rear recovery points. So I broke out the cable, ran it to a tree stump, put my sling around the stump & shackled into the sling.
Took up the slack, put a jacket on the line, hopped into the cab & started winching and let the clutch out. 3 seconds later we are out!
Easy Easy. I can see myself going a bit further when on a solo mission now. And whats more, there'll be a better chjance of getting back too!
So just have to get the winch sorted, and the rock sliders on & the truck will be pretty sorted. Then it's saving for gears & a front locker..
