Take a look at
this thread real quick. In summary, something happened to my old-school Clifford Intelliguard 700iq siren when I jump-started my 4R. It only chirps and alarms quietly now. I tried resetting and unplugging everything related to the alarm to no avail. It's still quiet.
My question is: Will any replacement siren work? I see two wires coming from the back of my existing siren. Could I just cut them, remove the old siren, install a new one, and solder the wires?
There are numerous ebay auctions for sirens stating they will work with any system. Is this true?
