OT: Late 90s Corolla vs Late 90s Chevy Prizm
Which would you choose for a used vehicle purchase? Everything I've read says they're made in the same plant (California) and use the Toyota drivetrain. On MSN's Carpoint, they get roughly identical consumer marks. The reason I'm even considering the Chevy is it's price. Even though it's supposed to be the same as a Corolla, it's $500-$2000 cheaper. My neighbor has one and likes it.
Is there a difference? Are American made Toyotas any good? If a Prizm is a Corolla, is there any reason not to buy the less expensive Prizm?
