check out
www.uzswap.com for info on that engine in specific. I'm looking at that engine personally, and from what I understand, the mid-90s non VVT-i engines are a whole world easier to install. The biggest problem you'll have is in getting the parts from Australia where the 1uzve is a very common swap into toyotas with manual transmissions. I know that VVT-i makes it a lot harder to wire up properly, JDM toyota and American lexus engine parts have different wiring harnesses and clips, and that automatic transmission + 4x4 make this a nightmare swap. Check out that web page, tons of info there.
Hah! I just realized I missed the reply by a YEAR!
