Please note that there is no 3" kit...there are 3" leaf springs which in essence with hangers and shackles will yield 4" of lift etc and so on.
I have an 85 with 4" springs and it clears 35s fine. The problem you run into with tires larger than 35s is scrubbing the firewall, thus you want to tub the firewall or break out the sawzall.
