My question is why would a 22RE consume a quart of oil every 300-500 miles if it has had religious maintenance performed over its entire life? Granted, it has 225,000 miles, but I just don't understand how it can run so well, yet have this oil consumption issue.
Any thoughts? Piston rings? Rebuild top end?
