the dealer said nobody wants a 99 prerunner 4cyl - and he would only offer him $3000? that's just retarded if you ask me, toyotas don't depreciate that much unless something is wrong with it. i think the 2.7l has plenty of power especially since he doesn't have the extra couple hundred pounds of 4wd parts to lug around. the 3.4l is really nice and all, but these days more economical cars and trucks seem more desirable for the average person. I'd try going somewhere other than the dealer if he really wants to sell it. And if he does decide to get the Nissan just tell him to put lots of cash aside for parts and recovery equipment and then ask him which you STILL see on the road - a mid 90s Toyota or a mid 90s Nissan? Who the hell names their vehicles "Hardbody" anyways???

I can't talk too much trash about Nissans as I DID own one at one point and I loved it and was bummed to sell it...but then again it wasn't technically a "Nissan", but instead it was an '84 Datsun Nissan/720 pickup (last year of Datsun) and that thing hauled ass for a little 2wd, 5spd w/Z24 engine. I never had one problem with it except one day I was really really low on gas and the fuel pump sucked up some schmutz after I decided to drift a turn. I sold it to a guy who bought it as a surprise for his son's 16th birthday...lucky kid - I made a lot of mods to that truck, but it was missing two crucial things...4wd and a Toyota emblem!!! I think the only other Nissan I would buy is a Titan, but I've already got my eyes set on that badass Tundra Diesel Dually.....

Oh yeah, and there are hardly any Nissan forums out there for support.
