A few tips to passing smog tests:

Use a gas with an ethenol blend. In theory they burn cleaner.
run a can of seafoam through your gas tank and intake before hand.
Pump up your rear tires to 40psi
Drive the truck around for at least 20 mins before the test.

When im in the lineup to get mine done, I will usually sit with my rpms around 2000 to get everything nice and hot.
