I'm not driving in 4x4, I'm driving with the hubs in 4x4 but the 4x4 shift lever in 4x2. So no power is going to the front wheels, but the front diff is still turning. With the hubs in 4x4, but the shifter in 4x2, this is essentially the equivalent of driving the truck with the stock hubs on and 4x4 disengaged. The aftermarket hubs merely give me the ability to disconnect the front diff totally, so that the wheels turn freely.

This isn't a huge deal because I can always get out and manually switch the hubs before I engage the 4x4 shifter, but sometimes it's nice to have the "shift on the fly" capability that locking the hubs in 4x4 gives.
