In six years, I'd expect someone to know something about the wiring on their truck, particularly the one who has been working on the truck all this time.... I may be wrong, you may still be 14, but I don't know.
so given that...
Where'd the alternator come from? ... a dumpster? ... side of the road?
It looks like a GM alternator from a late model v8, possibly camaro or vette, considering the fan and serpentine pulley.
Now, if you're sure you told us what it was, what do you need us for? Research the wiring diagrams and make it work.
People here learn from making mistakes, and we try to help others not make the same mistakes.
To call everyone here "useless" is only begging to be ignored and flamed.

and if I had to make an educated decision... that new alternator is designed to be mounted on the 'left' side of the engine, not the 'right' like the toyota alternator, considering the mounting bracket and strut as well as fan blade orientation- as if it was on the back side of the serpentine belt.
haha yeah i was fourteen when i started (which was about a monthe before i turned 15). i was working on it during school which only allowed me to work on saturdays from 10 to 2. i finished it about 3 months before i turned 16. the only reason im working on it now is because the oil pump went out on it and it locked up on me. o yeah an im 17... i have been driving the truck for about a year and a half and this is the only thing that has gone wrong. i think i have a pretty good idea on how to work on my truck. im sorry i just get really offended when people tell me i dont know what i am doing, especially when they don't know who i am or what i have done.

but anyway the alternator was on my dads crate engine that he had originally in my truck. the engine was a chevy TPI 350. it was taken out of the truck and sold and all of the really nice pully's, the compresor and this alternator was put it a box unlabled.i have it on my engine now but am not sure how it should be wired because they didnt lable anything.

I was told by a local auto electric place that it is a cs144 and through my research it definatelly seams to be. i cant figure out what the wire in the stock alternator plug are or what the wires on the new alternator are. i would be redisulously greatful for any help with my little situation because i put the engine back in saturday and am just waiting to figure out this alternator

o and im sorry for any misspelling and or grammar ploblems, im kinda in a hurry
