well, you said it... you were 14 when you started working on the truck. How old are you now? 18? 20?
In six years, I'd expect someone to know something about the wiring on their truck, particularly the one who has been working on the truck all this time.... I may be wrong, you may still be 14, but I don't know.
so given that...
Where'd the alternator come from? ... a dumpster? ... side of the road?
It looks like a GM alternator from a late model v8, possibly camaro or vette, considering the fan and serpentine pulley.
Now, if you're sure you told us what it was, what do you need us for? Research the wiring diagrams and make it work.
People here learn from making mistakes, and we try to help others not make the same mistakes.
To call everyone here "useless" is only begging to be ignored and flamed.
and if I had to make an educated decision... that new alternator is designed to be mounted on the 'left' side of the engine, not the 'right' like the toyota alternator, considering the mounting bracket and strut as well as fan blade orientation- as if it was on the back side of the serpentine belt.
