the problem is screensaver and other apps that automaticly index photos for you, they could care less where it is located or what it's name is, if it has a picture extension, (jpg, gif, tiff, and so on) they will index it. This means that if your family installs some new photo program and it asks would you like me to search and find all the pictures on your hardrive for you and they say yes, all your photos are going to pop up.

Crappy work around, rename the extensions to something like .dll which wouldn't be messed with and could not be opened with a simple double click of somebody finds them.

Better would be to just get them off the PC.
