I considered this swap before I went with the 3.4. The bellhousing was the main stumbling block I kept coming across. For my purposes (trails) the 3.4 was ultimately a better choice so I gave up the research.
You should subscribe to TIS.com for the wiring diagrams. Will be helpful to determine the exact year and model your motor came from first.
