I had 4.56 and 31's and it was a pretty good combo, but first was kinda short - by the time you got moving it seemed you were tached out. 4.56 and 33's was OK, first had "legs", but 5th was a bit tall, had to downshift frequently. 4.88 and 33's is the best combo of the three - first is usable, and 5th will hold on mild rollers.
One thing I learned is, if in doubt, select the lower gears. The extra 200 RPM or so on the highway makes a big difference in gas mileage by not having to downshift all the time!
