I don't think that's totally correct. MTR's work well in SOME kinds of mud, but I will agree that on average, no, they're not a mud tire. On rock, they are practically unbeatable though.
They are OK in deeper snow, but suck on snowy streets.
(BTW for those who don't know - MT/R stands for Maximum Traction/Reinforced not Mud Terrain or anything like that)
I have not heard any unusual balancing issues about Trxus, a guy here at work has them in 34's and they run great. As with ALL bigger tires (and expecially for heavy tires like these) more care will have to be taken with the balancing to get it right.
