it wont hurt your tranny quattro but like you thats a lot of $$ to cast any kind of doubt so i would move on... you can use amsoil and 9$ a quart is about right. i would ask them to cut you a deal if you were to buy 16qts.. if not you can either get the amsoil or move on to something else.. i would see if one of those autoparts stores will ORDER you a case or two of M1 atf thats the name
M1 ATF and make sure to tell them NOT the multivehicle and see what they say.. worst comes to worst use valvoline maxlife. its pretty decent stuff and plus its a BLEND (syn blended with dino) i think the % is 10-20% synthetic to 80-90% dino but the best part is that it has a good additive package.. again its your choice
