Thanks man, yeah I ended up doing the same thing. I used a 7/32 drill bit to make it as snug as possible. I also put silicone on there, so hopefully no leaks. Took me about 30-45 mins.

Just got busy and didn't get a chance to post earlier, but here are some pics.

I ended up using the snap brackets directly on the top.

I flipped the u bolts and screwed them in from the bottom. I felt it looked cleaner and made it harder to steal.

This is how it looks from the inside. Not too bad, and I can always just flip the u bolts over if I want.
