My mother-in-law blew the head gasket on her 1994 SR5 4Runner. She was looking to sell and replace it anyway, but now she's in more of a hurry. I don't know much about options for selling a non-running Runner. It was pretty nice when it ran, and the damage may not be too extensive. We haven't had the engine cracked open yet to see if it needs a short block or just some minor repairs. It's a 94, 5 Speed, power windows/locks, cruise, moonroof, premium wheels. A parts dismantler quoted $500 to 1500 over the phone. Does that sound right? Would it be better to sell the whole thing outright or try to part it out? Kind of at a loss here and want to make sure she gets as much out of this as she can. Thanks!
