Darren, my antenna barely moves when motoring down the highway.
But out on a trail, it moves all 4 directions depending on the terrain.

I have had the same spring since February of '99 I think when I put it on the hood.
It's a heavy duty one.

But if you were to grab it and move it, there is hardly any play.
Might have been the spring you had.
