I feel your pain man. I hate the magnet too. Doesn't tune properly because it's not always on and it ruins paint.
This bracket was found at CB City locally. It's referred to as a "Z bracket". I sanded away the paint around the bolt under the hood which holds it down. It bends a little so you can make sure it clears the hood when you let it close. Lastly I used velvet/felt tape on either side of it to prevent it from making noise if it vibrates against the hood or fender. That way it won't scratch my paint either. I covered the inside of my ashtray with this felt stuff at the time I installed my CB too. 2 mods in one.
